Bobby, I found that Bumping Topics is a serious matter, and some site owners don’t like it. I have been researching Bumping Topics on the web. It seems broad and complicated for many people to understand how it works and what it means. I personally found it hard to understand.

These are random tips, meanings, and understandings of Bumping Topics. I hope it gives others better insight on how, when, and if a Topic should be Bumped.

1. Bumping any old Topic without a good reason and new information is bad.
2. What constitutes a super-long Bump or what constitutes a basic overnight Bump.
3. Self promotional Bumps: This is where you Bump your own thread after X amount of time in order to have more people see it.
4. Constant promotion of a successful thread can get very annoying.
5. Some consider a thread to be stale if it’s past its lock ability duration, seven days. A month is getting fairly old, a year is very dusty and anything more than that is ancient.
6. Be aware that it’s often hard to actually add anything to Topics that are old, simply because the Topic has moved on.
7. If what you post adds to the Topic, there’s no reason to get banned for it.
