|
|
Thank you. montego!
Upgrades within phpNuke, RavenNuke, NukeC, and phpBB have always proven to be stable on a sub-domain, if I follow the install instructions.
Checking the minimum requirements before upgrading is very important. My server generally meets them.
In the pass I had cookie problems. My install had problems across the board. Why? I installed on a sub-domain, but the configurations I set during the install, was for a domain. Some of the problems are listed here: http://trickedoutnews.com/ftopict-92-.html
Also, you just prolonge my installation of RavenNuke 2.50.00, because I want to learn something new, like LAMP, WAMP and XAMPP.
Research is on!
Thanks again._________________ Open-source software has been changing lives since 1998.

I downloaded XAMPP from: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html and 7zip from: http://www.7-zip.org/
XAMPP is amazing. The more I learn about XAMPP, the more I will be able to run a fully functional site locally.
At this point I have no idea what is going on. I am playing with phpMyAdmin, by creating and deleting database, importing and exporting database. It looks and feels the same as my web server. Local is nice!
I clearly understand where all my databases come from in my web server phpMyAdmin CP, but not XAMPP phpMyAdmin CP. I want to know what database can be deleted. I am assuming the ones I have underline can be deleted.
Database
•cdcol
•information_schema
•mysql
•performance_schema
•phpmyadmin
•test
•webauth
Once I have grasp XAMPP, I will begin upgrading from RavenNuke 2.40.01 to 2.50.00 _________________ Open-source software has been changing lives since 1998.

I made great progress today. I completely solved all the problems I had since installing XAMPP. I finally tested a fully functional site locally.
Problem 1:
Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 404

Apache/2.2.21 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.21 OpenSSL/1.0.0e PHP/5.3.8 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1
Problem 2:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No such host is known. [2002]

Problem 3:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

I will give myself another day or two, to become more familiar with what I have learned so far from using XAMPP, and then I will do a local install of RavenNuke 2.50.00. _________________ Open-source software has been changing lives since 1998. |

The local install of RavenNuke 2.50.00 is coming along well, but is unlike phpBB 3.0.10 - Standalone Installation, which was a lot simpler to install locally and function fully, with few changes to phpMyAdmin databases.
RavenNuke requires more configuration changes to the database to accommodate XAMPP environment.
Everything seems fine so far, except I cannot sign into the Admin CP, and the 10 most popular ads in NukeC doesn't show up when I click the Most Popular icon.
In any case, I am enjoying this experience. _________________ Open-source software has been changing lives since 1998. |

Bobby, I'm stumped.
Most Popular icon works after copying head-NukeC.php into includes\addons folder. Users can sign in, but not admin. I think I made all the necessary changes needed in the database. I am wondering what file or folder did I forget to move over into XAMPP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks. _________________ Open-source software has been changing lives since 1998. |
